NOTD – Feeling Blue

Recently I’ve been feeling a little ‘blue’. I’m missing a lot of my uni life, the friends I made there, my boyfriend, and the general freedom of uni life away from home. If any of you follow me on Twitter you probably know this. For that reason I decided to mix two of my nail varnishes together to make this ‘feeling blue’ colour. Here’s what I used:

OPI miniature Katy Perry collection in: Last Friday Night, and Rimmel London in Aqua Cool

As I said latelly in one of my blog posts I’ve been experimenting with glitter nail polish on top of other colours,  and I decided to do this again with my Katy Perry miniature, as I haven’t really used the colour before, and thought the blue on top of the blue would go nicely. I started with Rimmel’s Aqua cool, which comes out as a nice pale blue shade, which I only needed 1 coat for as it comes out so opaque. I then did a couple of coats of Last Friday Night, to give it a brighter blue finish. Topped off of course with my Seche Vite – I don’t know how I ever lived without this product!

I really like the overall finish of this colour, the Katy Perry colour really makes the Rimmel blue colour stand out, and gives it a great finish! I think I’ll be experimenting a lot more with layering nail polishes.

What do you think?

Have you tried layering any nail varnishes?

I’ve never really been a fan of using sponges in the shower, I’ve always found them to be scratchy and irritating on my skin, and the sponges themselves always seem to go out of shape and grow mouldy.
