2016 Wishes

Every year I make new years resolutions, with things I hope to stick to, and usually don’t. So this year I thought I’d try something different, and share what my wishes are for the year ahead.

Home
Last year we moved into our flat in July, and still we haven’t finished decorating or getting it to how we want it. This year I’m hoping to finish decorating, get some pictures up on the walls, and fix a few things that need doing.

Money
2015 was a great year, but after being a really expensive year, money has been a little tight. Last year we started trying to work out what our money goes on, and how we can hopefully save a bit of money. This year I’m hoping that we can make it to the end of the month and still have money, as well as hopefully getting some more savings together.

Holiday
Me and Chris have never been a real holiday, so hopefully if we can get some savings together we can afford a holiday together this year! I’m not expecting us to be able to afford some super holiday of a lifetime, but a short trip somewhere abroad would be lovely.

Weightloss
I’ve been trying to lose weight for a while now, and failing, and towards the end of 2015 I joined Slimming World. It’s pretty easy to follow, but over the Christmas season I did gain a fair bit. This year I’m hoping to get my act together with it and actually lose some weight!

Be Happier
2015 wasn’t the best of years for me, and I did have a lot of problems with depression and anxiety. This year I’m hoping to to overcome these problems, and hopefully be a lot happier.

Crafty Projects
Back in 2014 I learnt to knit and spent hours making new things, but in 2015 I didn’t make much time for any crafty projects. This year is pretty exciting because my new niece or nephew is due in July, and what a better excuse to make new things for, so I want to get on with more crafty projects this year.

Learn Something New
This year I want to learn something new, I’m not sure what yet, but it’ll be pretty fun to learn something new!

So that’s my wishes for 2016, what are yours?

Although I’ve still not quite got a moving date for the flat, I can’t resist picking up little housey things. So far I’ve collected about a million cushions, several pretty signs, and a breadmaker. You know, the practical things. Although we’ve got loads of pretty little bits for the flat, we don’t have the basics…

I’ve always been a lover of scented candles, and for ages and ages now I’ve wanted a Yankee Candle. I hear them raved about all the time, and as a big lover of scented candles, I thought their large selection of scented candles would be perfect for me. This week has felt like the longest week ever after having two weeks off for Christmas. Going back to work after so long off seems to have turned my brain to mush, and I seemed to struggle with the first few days at work without my afternoon naps I became so accustomed too. Towards the end of…

  • Win A Three Hour House Clean

If you’re anything like me you’ll absolutely hate doing the cleaning. I just hate it. During my university days I was that annoying person that never did any housework. My housemates even made a cleaning rota, but nope, still no cleaning. I don’t know why because I actually get annoyed when things are messy… you’d think I’d…

  • Hunterian Museum

I love museums. I think it goes back to when I was a child and my dad would sometimes take me and my brother to London museums as a great day out. I’ve been to the science and history museums so many times now, but still love going for a day out to them. As…
