Recent Beauty Buys

Earlier this year I put myself on a spending ban in an attempt to save up to finally move out of my parents house. Over the years I’ve spent probably a horrifying amount of money on makeup and other beauty products, I dread to think just how much. After saving all my spare pennies I was finally in a position to buy a flat with my partner, but still I’ve been saving away so that we can buy furniture and other pretty things for the house. After all this saving it’s been an absolute age since I’ve bought myself some new beauty products, and after seeing a couple of good Boots 3 for 2 offers, I couldn’t resist anymore.

I’ve been on the hunt for a new mascara for a while now, and thought I’d repurchase one of my old favourites instead, Soap & Glory’s Thick & Fast Mascara. I haven’t gone back to this mascara for a while now, but it makes my lashes look really thick and long, and I’m looking forward to using it again. As I love Soap & Glory’s makeup range, and can’t resist a good 3 for 2, I also picked up Glow All Out, and Arch De Triumph. Arch De Triumph is something I’ve wanted to try for a while now. Usually I colour my brows in with an eyeshadow, but this is a two-step shaping and highlighting crayon so I’m interested to see how I get on with this. Glow All Out is a highlighting powder, and I picked this up as more of an impulse purchase, but I really like the colour of this against my pale skin.

Now that the sun is starting to come out I wanted to paint my nails with some more colourful colours compared to my usual plain grey shades. I saw Rimmel London had a new range of spring shades by Rita Ora, and I really liked the pastel shades. I picked up a lilac shade called ‘Go Wild-er-ness’, which I thought would be perfect for this year. Something I’ve not seen much about is the L’Oreal Paris La Palette Nude palette, and as a lover of neutral eyeshadows I couldn’t resist picking one up. Finally I picked up a new Maybelline Color Drama pencil in the shade ‘Light It Up’. I love the Maybelline lip pencils, and I’ve got quite a few already, and I wanted to add this bright red shade to my collection.

I’m looking forward to trying out my new beauty bits, and it felt great to have a good look around Boots after months of avoiding spending! Have you bought any new beauty buys lately?
