We’ve all heard about monthly beauty boxes in the beauty community haven’t we? Glossybox and Boudoir Prive are a couple of favourites in the beauty world. If you haven’t heard of monthly beauty boxes the idea is that you pay a monthly fee (usually around £10) and every month you get a few items sent to you. It’s a great idea but I’ve been searching for a cheaper alternative. As I’m living the life of a poor student (sniff) I can’t really afford to fork out £10 a month, so I started googleing ‘monthly beauty boxes’ and I came across The Latest In Beauty.
The idea behind the Latest In Beauty is that you get three samples of products every month for £1. Yes that’s right, £1! Now it is slightly different from Glossybox etc, as these aren’t luxury sized samples that you often find in your monthly boxes, but are tiny samples sizes. This doesn’t personally bother me, as I’ve only paid £1 for the service, and I got quite a few samples of the three products I ordered.
Unlike other monthly boxes you’re given the option to chose what three products you get. The three products you receive are broken down into three categories; Skin Care, Makeup & Fragrances and Hair & Body, and the idea is that you pick one from each section. Once you’ve chosen your three sample products you then text a number which sends you a code, once you receive a code you enter it on the website, and voila! you’ve paid. So if you don’t fancy receiving one one month you don’t have to cancel a subscription or anything. Pretty simple right?
So what did I receive in my box?
Natura Organics Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner
Specifically formulated for normal to dry hair and combines the most effective organic plant extracts (jojoba, shea butter, aloe vera) to nourish and condition the scalp.
I chose this one because my poor damaged hair is always in need of a bit more love. I’m constantly trying out different shampoos/treatments/sprays etc to give my hair a bit more attention. This drew me too it as it was specifically for dry or colored hair, which mine is so I thought I’d give this one a go. I only got one of each on this, so I’ll only be able to try it out once.
Skin Doctors Eyetuck
Scientifically shown to reduce the appearance of under-eye bags. This cutting-edge cosmeceutical strength formula has been specifically engineered to help painlessly reduce the appearance of eye bags in the comfort of your home.
Sadly I suffer from dark circles under my eyes, nothing a bit of concealer can’t help with, but the chance to try out a product which could get rid of my dark circles? Well of course I jumped at the chance of including this in my box.
Lavera Summer Glow Facial Moisturiser After cleansing and toning, apply to your face and neck, avoiding your eyebrows and hairline. Remember to wash your hands after each use.
This is probably the product I was most excited to use. I’ve recently started using fake tan, and I don’t actually know how to tan my face! So previously I’ve just been using a slightly darker foundation when I have a tan. So I thought I’d try out this product and see if it helps when I’ve got my tan on.
So what do I think of this monthly box? I think it’s great! The chance to try out a couple of beauty products only costing me £1?!?! What’s not to love! You also are given the chance to buy larger sizes of the products if you enjoy them, and sign up to ‘luxury samples’ where you can have a couple of luxury sized products in a box. Overall I think its a great service, and I will definitely be signing up for another box next month!

Every year I love being nosey on everyone’s blogs to see what they got for Christmas, and this year I decided to join in and share what I got so you can be equally as nosey ;). I had a rather lovely Christmas this year as my grandparents that I hardly get to see were…
I’m now 14 days into my 100 Day Spending Ban Challenge, so how am I getting on? Well this week I may have slipped up a bit.. After deciding that my hair looks a little worse for wear at the moment I decided to give in and buy a couple of things. I then found myself…
Once upon a time I was completely oblivious to the idea of skin care and had no idea what I was doing with it. When I first entered the blogging world I was only interested in reading about lipstick swatches and nail varnish colours. I had no idea that there was a whole world about…
When it comes to lipsticks I’m not very experimental, it took me about 2 years to even get the confidence to wear a red lipstick outside of the house. I tend to stick to pale pink shades, or one’s that provide a little bit of colour. One thing that I’ve never been into is nude…
A while ago I never understood why anyone would pay around the £20/30 mark for a foundation. I just didn’t understand why you’d spend so much money on a foundation when you can buy a ‘drugstore’ version for around the £10 mark. I thought surely they can’t provide that much more coverage, or make my…
In the past year or so I’ve actually started to care about my skin. I never used to have much of a routine, it was more of a ‘take off my make up and that’s it’ kind of thing. Then through reading other people’s blogs I learnt more about the importance of skin care and…
