When it comes to lipsticks I’m not very experimental, it took me about 2 years to even get the confidence to wear a red lipstick outside of the house. I tend to stick to pale pink shades, or one’s that provide a little bit of colour. One thing that I’ve never been into is nude lipsticks, the closest I’ve ever got is MAC’s Hue. A while ago I bought a few bits from Bourjois, which then gave me a free gift set which included one of their Rouge Edition lipsticks in the shade Beige Trench. I didn’t think much of it at the time, and I was kind of put off by the name ‘Beige Trench’, it isn’t the most attractive of lipstick names is it? It then sat in my lipstick drawer unthought about for a while.
The colour looks fairly basic in the tube, and actually looks rather beige, so I wasn’t sure how it would look once applied. However once it was applied to my lips it’s a different story, the colour seems to be the perfect nude ‘my lips but better shade’, a complete turn around from how it looked in the tube. The lipstick it’s self is feels really hydrating, and doesn’t dry out my lips, it just gives my lips a lovely glossy shine. The Rouge Edition lipsticks have actually been formulated to leave lips feeling hydrated and protected for 10 hours, but I’ve never had a lipstick on for that long to prove that, but my lips certainly feel soft whilst wearing this. This is the type of lipstick I wear frequently to work, as it’s rather neutral and unoffensive, and the perfect lipstick for when I forget to reapply it!
I’m glad I decided to give this lipstick another chance, as it actually looks rather lovely on. There’s 18 different shades in the Rouge Edition collection, and there’s actually a nice plum shade I’ve got my eye on, which is a bit out there for me! Are you a fan of nude lipsticks?
I recently wrote in my June Loves about Rimmel London The Max Volume Flash Mascara, but I thought it was such a good product that I should review it properly. The product is described as: “Skinny to fat lashes in a flash! up to 14 x volume”. I always find it hard to believe a product is going to…
Serums are still something relatively new to me when it comes to skin care, I’ve only been using them for the past year. Over the past year I’ve got around to using a couple of different ones and found a couple of favourites that I like to switch around and use. L’Oreal Paris Youth Code…
You may have noticed that in the past that all of my nail varnish choices have been around the grey/beige/taupe variety, but now the suns starting to come out, I’m in the mood to wear bolder brighter colours. In my Recent Beauty Buys post I mentioned that I bought one of Rimmel London’s Rita Ora nail varnishes in the…
It’s been an absolute age since I’ve put up a monthly favourites post. It always slips my mind until mid way through the month, which by that time is too late. Oops. Anyway on to this months favourites.. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner My hair has been in a bit of a bad…
Recently I’ve been trying to get a little more adventurous with my nail art. If you look through my nail art posts you’ll see the majority are just some form of leopard print, nothing too creative. When it comes to nail art I’m bit a newbie, and some of the extravagant designs are a little scary to attempt. Back in the #JulyLondonMeetUp goody…
When it comes to nails I’m a lover of all things neutral. Greys, browns, nudes, you name it I have it. There was once upon a time I used to paint my nails every colour under the sun, but as I’ve ‘grown up’ in my nail varnish tastes I’ve found myself switching to neutral colours…
