Earthnicity Minerals Makeup

When it comes to foundation I’ve always been a heavy coverage kind of girl. It’s only in recent years since I’ve had luck with my skincare routine, that I’ve ventured to more of a light coverage. Still I’ve only ever used liquid foundations, mineral makeup is somewhat alien to me. In fact when it comes to mineral makeup I have no idea at all, I actually thought Bare Minerals were the only brand that did mineral makeup. So when Earthnicity Minerals contacted me about their mineral foundation, I was interested to learn more.

Earthnicity’s mineral foundation claims to provide a matte, yet natural-looking finish, which lasts all day without looking or feeling heavy. It also contains no perfumes, alcohol, or other irritating ingredients – perfect if you’re acne-prone or have sensitive skin. Their mineral foundation 10 different shades, and as I’m super pale I used shade Porcelain, which I found fitted my skin tone perfectly. I’m used to my liquid foundations that give me all day coverage, so when I first started using this I was a little worried how a powder would give me enough coverage. I actually found once applied it sat on my skin perfectly, and still gave me the right amount of coverage without feeling as heavy on my skin. I actually found that after a few weeks of wearing my skin was looking a lot healthier too, probably because it can breathe a lot easier with mineral foundation.

As well as Earthnicity’s mineral foundation, I also tried out their Velvet HD Powder. The Velvet HD Powder is a multi-tasker powder, working to give your skin a soft focus effect, blurring the look of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as brightening your complexion. It can also work as a mattifier, absorbing excess oils and controlling shine. I think out of the two products this one impressed me the least. It worked well as a finishing touch to my makeup, but I didn’t find it worked any differently compared to normal loose powder.

I’m glad that I’ve tried out Earthnicity Minerals products, and it’s certainly made me want to use mineral foundation more. Earthnicity Minerals also do other mineral versions of makeup, including blushers and bronzers, and if you’re a mineral newbie like me they have some start up kits which are perfect! Do you use mineral makeup? What do you think?
