NOTD – Festive Nails

With all the days getting darker quickly, and the nights getting colder, it only means one thing – It’s nearly Christmas! So for today’s NOTD post I decided on doing some festive nails as I’m finally getting into the Christmas spirit. On a recent trip to Superdrug I picked up some of the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine polishes as I’ve heard good things about them. I decided to pick up the shades ‘Watermelon’ and ‘Plum’ and if you spend £6 or more on Barry M you got this free limited edition Barry M glitter polish. I couldn’t resist as I decided I needed this glitter polish in my life as I haven’t seen anything quite like this before. And annoyingly you couldn’t buy it on its own, so I had to buy the two other nail varnishes (that’s my reason and I’m sticking to it!). I decided to try out the ‘Watermelon’ shade first, which is this gorgeous dark green colour, perfect for this time of the year. I was amazed at how well it applied and I only needed one coat to make it completely opaque, when I find usually Barry M take about 2 or 3 coats normally. As it’s a Hi-Shine polish you don’t even need to use a top coat to make it shiny, but I still used my Seche Vite top coat as I hate waiting for my nails to dry. To then add a little bit of a festive look I used the limited edition polish for an accent nail, who doesn’t love a little bit of glitter? I’m actually quite impressed with the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine polishes, they apply fairly easily, don’t need top coats, and are very very shiny. There’s only 9 colours in the Gelly range, and I’m pretty tempted to go back and pick up some more. I have my eyes on ‘Blueberry’ and ‘Prickly Pear’, has anyone tried any other colours?

For the past couple of years I’ve heard great things about Moroccanoil. My hairdresser would rave about it, I’d see other bloggers and YouTubers rave about it, but I was yet to try it. For a long time I didn’t understand how using oil cold help my hair. Surely it would make it manky and…
