The Sunday Post #29 – Shellac Nails

Last month was my birthday, and as a birthday present to myself I decided to treat myself to getting my nails done. I’ve had my nails done twice before, once was a really bad experience, but then my friend Sophia convinced me to try again somewhere else and I loved them. Since then I’ve discovered there’s a local nail and beauty salon in the village I live in, so I thought I’d give them a try for my birthday nails, as I didn’t have to travel far to get there.

I’m always worried about going somewhere new, especially as you don’t know how well they can do things, but I
was pleasantly surprised with how well they did my nails, and they lasted me weeks. Since then I’ve gone back a few times, and I’ve kind of become addicted to getting shellac nails. I just love how lovely they look compared to when I paint my own nails, and they help to make my manly sausage fingers look a little more feminine and pretty.

Usually when I paint my nails I chose fairly neutral shades of brown and grey, but this time I decided to go for something a little different, and had my nails done a shade of pink. Pink is a completely alien colour for me, but I’m really enjoying having bright bold nails for once. I can’t stop looking at my nails, they just look so pretty! I’ve booked a few more nail appointments because I’m so impressed with them, so I’m looking forward to having pretty nails again in the future!

  • LUSH Lemony Flutter

I picked this up last weekend from LUSH after reading several reviews on it. Recently I’ve been abusing my poor nails, and my cuticles are paying the price for it. My cuticles were dry and horrible, as I hadn’t looked after them in months. Well after reading a few reviews I thought I’d give this a go…

This year I’m making the most of the bank holiday weekend and getting the chance to go away for a few days to visit my partners parents up north. I’m pretty excited as this is the first Easter weekend in years that I’m not working (stupid working in retail) or have 100’s of uni deadlines…
