Bonmarche is a brand that I always thought stocked ‘old lady’ type clothes, and never really appealed to me. I’d often see them on the high street and wouldn’t give them two glances. Recently I was contacted by Bonmarche to take a look at their new range, and I was actually pleasantly surprised at some of their clothes. I decided to try their David Emanuel Pleated Black Scarf Blouse.
This blouse originally caught my eye because of the scarf detail, it’s not something you see on your typical blouse. I really love the floral print on the scarf, which is something I would normally pick out myself, and with the pendant detail it makes the scarf feel a bit more accessorized.
Another feature of the blouse that makes it seem a little more different is the pleated back, which makes it seem a little more interesting than your usual work shirt.
I’m really quite in love with this blouse, and find it great for work if you want something a bit more fashionable than your usual work wear. I also think it’s fairly versatile, and you can style it several ways with or without the scarf. I’m glad Bonmarche have proved me wrong, and I’m already looking up a few more of their new range.

A few months ago I got asked if I wanted to take part in a knitting competition by Cosywool. I’m far from being a strong knitter, but since learning to knit last year I’ve found that I’m getting quite good at it. Luckily for me the competition wasn’t too complicated, it was just to knit a scarf in any style I…
First of all, how is it June? I swear yesterday I was writing Christmas present gift guides and trying to work out what to get people, and now I’m having to work out what to buy my dad for Father’s Day. When it comes to buying my dad gifts I’m hopeless, I just never know…
I’ve seen this floating around on a couple of blogs today and thought I’d give it a wurl too 🙂 Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eye liners, lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all your palettes and eye shadows? Lose all my palettes and eye shadows. I couldn’t live without mascara…

I decided to stay at uni for my birthday, and as it was a Saturday my parents and brother were able to come up and visit me for the day. My birthday started bright and early with me waking up my flat mates and my…
For today’s Blog Takeover I have Lucy from Absolutely Lucy talking about staying beautiful at festivals and what to pack. I really like this post and will take on board Lucy’s recommendations if I go to a festival! I’m trying my hand at something new here – not usually a beauty blogger but I’m always up for a challenge and…
Last weekend on the 20th May I had my university’s summer ball! It was bit of an excuse to get all dressed up, and have bit of a fancy night out. We went to a local venue in Leicester, called Athena, and had drinks and entertainment, including a band, and circus acts. Here’s some pictures…
