Spot Solutions

I’ve been having trouble with my skin and spots ever since I can remember. I seemed to get spots before everyone else in my year at school, and hoped that one day I’d grow out of my terrible skin. But at 21, my skin is still awful. Admittedly I haven’t always looked after my skin, and I’ve only just got into a good skincare routine in the past 6 months or so (yes I’m a terrible person). As I’ve dealt with problem spots most of my life, I’ve found a couple of products to use, and I swear by, for when I have one of those terrible break outs.

A product I was introduced to when I was around 12/13 for treating awful spots is the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. I’ve seen this particular product raved about in the beauty world for it’s multi-purpose use. It’s fairly popular for its multi-purpose ways, as it soothes, restores, calms and helps relieve chapped, cracked, dry skin and soothes roughness, redness and minor skin irritations. It now comes in many forms, but I have the old school cream tube. You can use it for almost anything, dry skin, chapped lips, but my favourite, spots. The idea is it’s an 8 hour cream, and it’s rather greasy, so I stick it on just before I go to bed and I find that over night it’s worked wonders on my spots! Although at £25 for 50ml it’s rather pricey, but it’s worth the money in my opinion. A slightly cheaper alternative at £5.95 for 45g, is Lush’s Grease Lightning Spot Treatment. I’ve only recently purchased this, but I’m so glad a did. It’s basically a clear gel you stick on over your spots and it helps to dry them out. So when my skin decides to be a pest and flare up (usually when I have something I’ve been looking forward to going to!) I reach for these two products and my skin sorts it’s self out in no time!
