Nail Care Routine

For the past two years or so I’ve had a slight obsession with my nails. I went from owning 4 nail polishes, to around the 80 mark. I suddenly cared how my nails looked instead of leaving them uncared for and chipped. Not only did I want my nails looking pretty when they were painted, but I wanted to take care of them so they were healthy, and grew nice and strong. That’s when I started doing a ‘nail care routine’ and there’s been a few products that have been my go to products for this.

To start I make sure I have clean bare nails, and then I use my cuticle remover pen and leave it on my cuticles for around ten minutes. After this time I wash it off and use the cuticle pusher just to push the rest of my cuticles back into place. Then I take the nail file and file and shape my nails. I like to keep my nails fairly short as mine often break and peel, and this just keeps them easy to maintain in a good condition. Sometimes if I can be bothered I use a nail buffer, but I find it doesn’t make a great difference to my nails other than making them shiny. Then I apply a coat of OPI’s Nail Envy, either as a base coat or on its own. Since using it I’ve definitely seen an improvement to my nails, their growing much stronger, not peeling, and generally look much healthier. Then when I’m finished I use my Lush Lemony Flutter to maintain and moisturise my cuticles, and my Soap & Glory Hand Food to keep my hands from going dry. And voila! There you have it, my nail care routine. I may not use the best of products, but I’ve found by doing this routine every week it helps to keep my nails look good.
