Lets Have A Little Catch Up

So, Hi. It’s been a little while hasn’t it? Here we are, nearly at the end of July, and there’s been hardly any posts on Lisahh-Jayne this month. Well this month I’ve been somewhat of a busy bee, so lets have a little catch up with what’s been going on.

At the beginning of the month I went on a mini holiday with my mum, and my ‘aunty’ to Manchester. For months me and my mum have talked about going on the Coronation Street tour, and we decided why the hell not, and booked a couple of days away. I can’t afford a real holiday this year so it was nice to get away for a few days, and to have a little bit of time off work. We had a good few days, and found some cute little places in Manchester. I plan on writing up a few blog posts about my trip, so keep an eye out for them!

Then the big thing that’s taken up a lot of my time this month happened.. I finally moved house!! On the 7th July we finally got to pick up our keys to our own little flat. Finally Chris and I can start our own lives together. We are lucky to have been living with my parents so we didn’t have to do it all in one day, but gosh was it stressful. Chris and I then spent the next few days attempting to decorate, build IKEA furniture and move things over from my parents house. I originally thought this would only take a few days, oh how wrong I was. It’s two weeks later and we’re still not finished. We only did half the painting we originally planned on doing, and we still need to buy a lot of furniture before we can unpack the rest. There’s also still a lot of our stuff at my parents house, but we’ve got the important stuff here at least. This ‘being an adult’ stuff now isn’t as fun as I thought, especially when I realise we need to spend about £300 on curtains because our lounge window is huge. £300 on curtains?!?! I’ve also realised I can’t cook, so that’s a fun game too.

Then as we were celebrating our first weekend of having the keys to our flat (we hadn’t officially moved in at this point), Chris’s granddad passed away. It wasn’t much of a shock, as he’d sadly not been well for sometime, but still it was a sad time. We then travelled up north last weekend for the funeral on Monday, which of course was a very emotional day. Chris’s granddad was adored, and you could tell that by the sheer volume of people that turned up to say their goodbyes, which was very comforting.

Then there’s my own health. Lately things haven’t been feeling ‘right’ and I haven’t been sleeping. I went to my doctors a few months ago, who came to the conclusion I had quite severe depression, likely to be as a result of the trauma I went through from my mum’s stroke. I’ve been prescribed some anti depressants, which seem to be doing their job on making me feel happier, but I still can’t sleep, so my doctor’s doing some further investigating. I had some blood tests the other week to check for a few things, and all the tests came back as normal, which yes is great, but doesn’t explain what’s actually wrong with me. I’m back to the doctors next week to find out what are next steps are, whatever it is I really hope I get some sleep soon.

So that’s me, what’s new with you?
