Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask

So recently I’ve become bit of a Lush addict. I can’t walk past one without having to go in and sniff everything. And I’ve now grown quite a collection of Lush goodies. Something that’s always intreged me in Lush is their fresh face masks. After picking up and sniffing each one of them (and trying to avoid the pushy sales assistants) I decided on Catastrophe Cosmetic. I’m a big lover of blueberries and the smell just drew me in!

“When disaster looms, Catastrophe Cosmetic calms and cleanses the skin. Blueberries rich in beneficial anti-oxidants, soothing chamomile, Irish moss and the gentle cleansing action of calamine to save the day.”

I’ve found that applying this can be a bit of a pain. It’s a rather thick paste consistency so it’s quite difficult to apply evenly to the face. But once you’ve got the hang of it, it’s great! I go through bit of a love/hate relationship with my skin, and I’ve found when I’m going through a ‘hate’ phase with it, this face mask really helps to calm my skin down and soothe it.

Another problem with this is when the time comes to remove it. I’ve found that after 10/15 minutes the mask has completely dried, but then it starts trying to flake off and turn into a powder. But if you remove the mask the moment it’s dried there shouldn’t be a problem. The best way to remove the mask is with a damp cloth, but it does go a little tacky and turns a bit glue like, so it can be bit of a pest! Although if you can put up with this, it’s a great face mask. It leaves my skin soft and it calms it down when it’s playing up.  O and remember to keep it in the fridge!
Rating – a 9/10 for me. It’s great, and does amazing things to my skin. But it can be bit of a pain trying to apply and remove.
