It’s that time once again where the She Said Beauty boxes are delivered again! And after the love of receiving once again a great box last month, I was excited to get mine. In fact I’ve enjoyed my She Said Beauty subscription so much I’ve signed up for another 3 months subscription to start after this box. I’ve found their boxes have got better each time, and they always listen to what their customers have to say and try to improve on points people aren’t happy with. So what did I think of this months box?
Cellnique Advanced Bio Renewal Masque
“This unparalleled scrub masque is formulated with a complex of fresh fruit enzymes and acids. It effectively works in exfoliating dead skin cells, optimising the cellular renewal performance and deeply cleanses the pores, thus revealing a softer, fresher and healthier skin”
As I’ve mentioned a fair bit on the blog, I’ve been going through bit of a skin care phase, so new skin care products are rather exciting to me. However I wasn’t too excited with this. I’ve tried it out, and yeah it’s okay, but looking at the price tag I don’t think this is worth it. There are many other similar cheaper versions of this around that work just as well.
B.liv Off With Those Heads
“Say goodbye to painful squeezing! This light cooling gel promises to easily remove stubborn blackheads and whiteheads. It keeps excessive oil secretion under control while preventing future irritation and breakouts”.
Again another skin care product She Said Beauty? Don’t get me wrong I’m enjoying them, but once again this box had two, just like last month, so I’m not feeling a great sense of variety. I wasn’t majorly excited by this either, I haven’t used it yet but I think I’ll only get one use out of this. That’s the problem with sample products, you don’t get to try out the product for long enough to see if it works.
Amy Childs Fragrance by Jigsaw ESL
“Amy Childs perfume is fabulous and feminine, just like her. A fan of all things glamourous and girly, she has always loved perfume and smelling lovely. Amy chose all the lotions and oils herself as she wanted to ensure that all the fragrances were just perfect”.
I personally don’t really care about celebrity perfumes, so again wasn’t majorly excited by this. I don’t watch TOWIE or really like Amy Childs so I guess that immediately gave me a negative view on this. It does smell okay, not my favourite kind of scent, but it will be living in my handbag for on the go.
Biao Beauty Rejuvenating Night Creme
“Pamper your skin night after night with triple-action properties that smooth, moisturise and protect against premature ageing. Reveal a youthful and more luminous skin tone”.
Again I wasn’t really excited to see this in my box. I have a fair few moisturisers and samples already, so this probably wasn’t the best product for me to receive. On first impressions it did make my skin feel amazingly soft the next morning, but I’m not sure how this lives up to its other claims.
Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Travel Size Lotion
“Enriched with vitamin e and pure cocoa butter to deeply moisturise any dry spots while smoothing marks and toning skin. Ideal for keeping your skin nourished and conditioned all weekend long, you’ll be sure to use every last drop of this indulgent travel essential – meaning one less thing to pack for your return journey!”
When I first saw this I really wasn’t that impressed. I’ve used this before, and yes it’s a good moisturiser, but it’s basic, and you can buy it pretty much everywhere. I would of preferred a moisturiser from a brand I haven’t heard of, or of a more expensive brand that I normally wouldn’t be able to afford to try. I will be using this as it comes in handy as I have horrible dry skin and eczema, but it would have been nice to have seen something else.
Myvitamins
“To slave off the dreaded winter cold, the SSB girls are on a bit of a health kick, which is why we chose myvitamins as our SSB treat this month! With four amazing varieties of vitamins there’s something to suit all of our bodies needs”.
I think out of everything this month, this is the one thing I was excited to receive. Because I’ve gone back to uni I’ve already got the dreaded freshers flu, and I’m probably not eating that well. So vitamins have come to me at a handy time!
So my overall thoughts on this months box? Honestly I thought it was pretty weak, there wasn’t a great variety of products, and what was included wasn’t great for me. I’m pretty disappointed with this box, but it doesn’t mean I’m giving up on She Said Beauty. The great thing about sample boxes is you get to try a variety of things, and it’s not always for everyone. So far I’ve seen She Said Beauty take on board everyone’s negative comments on this box, so hopefully things will improve for next month!
