Reflecting On 2013 & 2014 Resolutions

It’s crazy to think that today is the last day of 2013, it seems like only the other day I was writing this post last year. 2013 has been a crazy year with so much happening, so no wonder it’s gone so fast.

Probably the best thing that happened in 2013 was the fact I finished uni and graduated with a 2:1! It’s crazy to think that I’ve actually got myself a degree after I’ve worked so hard for it. I still sometimes feel guilty for not doing uni work, despite finishing in May. Now I’m living in the adult world and attempted to find myself a job.

Sadly three weeks ago my ginger cat Matty died. He came into our lives 6 years ago as a ferral cat that decided to move in and just never left. Eventually we allowed him to become one of our cats, and even our other male cat Branston fell in love with him. We had no idea how old he was but he suddenly went down hill and passed away.

Although we were sad about Matty, we then adopted this little guy Marley! He very quickly made himself at home and has won us over.

In March this year two of my oldest friends got married. I’ve known Amy since we were 6/7 and Scott since we were 13, and I’ve been friends with them separately and as a couple, so it was so lovely to be a part of their big day. And in more exciting news they’re now expecting their first child! So it’s been a pretty special year for them.

I attended loads of blogger meet ups and events and got to meet some pretty incredible girls behind the blogs. I’ve even become really good friends with a few, who I speak to almost daily now!

And I had some great times with some great friends.

So what do I want from 2014?

Get a real job
This resolution came up last year, and while I didn’t quite achieve it this year, I spent a lot of time interning to get myself in the right direction. I already have two interviews lined up for January, so hopefully it won’t be long!

Continue on my weight loss journey
I’ve been blogging a bit about my weight loss and I plan to continue to loose loads this year!

Look on the brightside more
I have a tendency to look on the negative side of things a lot, so this year I want to learn to be more positive.

I love reading, but I never make time for it. This year I plan to read a lot more!

Move out/in with the boyfriend
This is quite a big resolution to make considering neither of us have ‘proper full time jobs’ yet, but hopefully 2014 will see us being able to actually save some money together and hopefully move in to our own place!

Happy New Year! Hope 2013 has been good to you!
